A blend of photography styles tailored for your home environment, ranging from candid moments to poised portraits and authentic shots of your pet in their element. I'd love to get to know your pet and make them comfortable in my presence to capture them in the most relaxed and natural way, whether they're snoozing in their favorite spot or playing with their favourite toys.
How should I prepare my home?
First thing's first... don't stress it! For indoor photography I'm using a wide aperture lens which means whilst I can capture every whisker, the background will be mostly blurred, so there's no need to turn your home into a photo studio! This type of lens is not only best for low light photography, but it separates the subjects from the background creating behind it some beautiful out of focus gradients - of what very often was a misplaced vacuum cleaner or a chair.
The most important aspect is to get as much natural light as possible, so it will be preferred to choose a time of the day when the room you'd like the photos to be taken in gets the most light. Ideally it will be the place your pet is most relaxed and comfortable but every home and pet is different - I have taken amazing photographs of pets posing in front of a window and playing under the sofa.
What if my pet gets shy?
I'm very experienced working with both nervous dogs and shy cats and I know what it takes to make them feel comfortable around a new person. With that in mind I'm prepared for the fact that some pets might requiere longer time before the photoshoot and I don't mind just waiting for them to relax. I've photographed cats indoors where they wouldn't come out out of hiding for an hour while me and the owner had a chat and a coffee, but once their cats grew a little more curious we took some of the best photographs and they ended up trying to get into my camera bag.
In the worst case scenario we can postpone the photoshoot to a different day and try again and there's nothing wrong with that!
